Animoca Brands has acquired a majority stake in PIXELYNX to build, invest in, and acquire studios, infrastructure, and technologies that will power the future of the music industry through integration with gaming and Web3 technologies and communities.

Who is PIXELYNX?

PIXELYNX was founded by Richie Hawtin and Joel Zimmerman, aka deadmau5, and music and gaming industry heavyweights Ben Turner, Dean Wilson, and metaverse visionary Inder Phull. They look set to disrupt the music industry, as Phull explains: “A few years ago, an artist would only have access to a small set of tools to express and monetize their vision. The intersection of music, gaming, AI, UGC, and Web3 will completely transform this paradigm. It’s only a matter of time before we see the real potential of music.”

Additionally, the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning in the metaverse allows for creating of personalized, dynamic soundscapes and compositions that adapt to the preferences and emotions of individual users.

As such, PIXELYNX’s upcoming debut game ELYNXIR is a next-generation mobile gaming platform that will bring fans closer to their favorite artists through exclusive music content, in-game collectibles, and playable immersive experiences.

Music plays a crucial role in the metaverse, providing the soundtrack to virtual experiences and enhancing the immersive nature of the digital world. In the metaverse, musicians can perform live virtual concerts for audiences worldwide or create and distribute music through digital platforms.
