Andrew C. LaValle is a Strategic Partner at Rosenzweig & Company. He is the former Senior Managing Director of the Entertainment & Networks practice for Time Warner’s Worldwide Recruitment & Executive Search team. Andy was charged with talent acquisition and executive recruitment consulting for Time Warner’s family of film, entertainment and network brands including Warner Bros., Turner Broadcasting, HBO, and Time Inc. Andy partners with human resources and line management at each division, delivering talent needed to meet the business challenges of a constantly evolving technology driven media environment. Working closely with his HR and business partners, Andy has successfully recruited a range of diverse world-class executives in Production, Programming, Creative, Marketing, Sales, Business Development and General Management.
At Time Warner, Andy and his team were responsible for sourcing, assessing and presenting to the Board potential selections for open board seats. They were also responsible for overall succession planning and talent management strategies, including diversity and inclusion initiatives.
Prior to Time Warner, Andy spent six years with Christian & Timbers, a premier executive search firm known for its technology clients, where he was a Director in the Media and Entertainment practice. Andy led consulting engagements for a diverse clientele including Sony, Scripps Networks, Creative Artists Agency, and Samsung. In addition to Fortune 500 public media corporations, Andy has had equal success recruiting marketing, sales and business development talent for early stage enterprise software and technology companies. Known for his approach to executive search with equal parts art and science, Andy had one of the highest close ratios in the firm and was awarded top honors as the number one Director at Christian & Timbers.
A seasoned media executive who entered the entertainment industry with CBS Records while still in college, Andy’s corporate career includes Sony Music Entertainment where he was Director of National Merchandising, working with the Columbia and Epic music labels on such diverse acts as Bruce Springsteen, Mariah Carey, Billy Joel, Pink Floyd, and the Beastie Boys. At Sony, Andy was known to work equally well with his creative counterparts in art direction and production as well as the regional branch sales teams in the field. Andy and his department were instrumental in planning and leading the implementation of a national production and distribution system for the rapid delivery of critical point-of-sale and in-store advertising materials to the nation’s record retailers.
Andy earned a BFA from the Rochester Institute of Technology and an MA in Media Studies from The New School for Social Research.
