RANDY WILLIAMSON
Randy is a partner in
Aird & Berlis’ Corporate/Commercial Group. In
addition, he is the
firm’s leader in assisting
companies offering clean technologies, as well as
those identifying,
developing and monetizing carbon
offset opportunities.
Randy's practice includes acquisitions and
divestitures, private equity and venture capital
investments, debt financings and restructurings, as
well as structuring and negotiating
shareholder,
partnership, joint venture, outsourcing,
distribution and licensing agreements.
He advises
private companies, private equity investors, public
issuers and works closely
with investment dealers,
financial agents, accountants and other advisors.
Before returning to legal practice in 2005, Randy
owned and operated three independent
business
services companies. Previously, Randy was a senior
executive at Russel Metals
and a partner with
another large Toronto law firm. Randy is also a
Chartered Accountant
and holds the specialty
Corporate Finance designation.
Randy has been a director and officer of several
private and public companies and
frequently speaks
in business and legal settings on M&A and financing
matters.
Randy earned a Bachelor of commerce from Queen’s
University and an LL.B. from
Osgoode Hall Law
School, where he was the recipient of the
Corporate/Commercial
Research Prize.
Randy is involved in a number of not-for-profit
endeavors within the Toronto community.
