GLENN FRESE

Glenn is recognized as a leader and innovator in the fields of Digital Marketing and Sales Strategies
with eighteen years of entertainment experience at Columbia Records & Sony Music.

In his most recent role as Senior Vice President, Digital Marketing and Business Development at
Columbia Records in Beverly Hills, California, he created and executed industry leading digital
marketing and D2C campaigns for over 100 artists on the Columbia roster including Bob Dylan,
AC/DC, John Mayer, Bruce Springsteen, "Glee", & Beyonce.

Amongst his many accomplishments, Glenn:

  • Spearheaded the groundbreaking digital marketing and sales plan for the music from the Fox television show  "Glee" which has resulted in 2.5M album sales and 7M digital track sales globally to date.
  • Led the implementation and execution of key company business initiatives with JV partnerships such as VEVO and MySpace Music.
  • Orchestrated the largest preorder campaign in the history of Amazon.com for Susan Boyle.
  • Formulated and executed the AC/DC exclusive campaign with Walmart that produced the biggest first week sales of 2008 in the music industry. Acted as lead on game development with the Rock Band team.
  • Developed and refined digital distribution and sales strategies with key accounts such as iTunes, Amazon, and Walmart that have been widely emulated company and industry wide.
  • Increased visits to Columbia artist web properties 51% year over year through improved web design and focus on digital content development.
  • Managed a $250M+ business across distribution channels with key national accounts including iTunes, Walmart, Target, Best Buy, Amazon, Verizon Wireless, AT&T, Sprint and others.
  • Oversaw $4M+advertising and P&P budget to support product releases at retail.
  • Grew direct to consumer sales by 150% to $5M in his first year at Sony Music Label Group.
  • Demonstrated a proven track record of finding & developing new talent while mentoring people throughout the company.
Glenn received his M.BA. at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, and his B.S. in Communication
in Film & Television at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida.
