MARTIN ROTHSTEIN
Marty Rothstein has
been an accomplished CEO, who has earned a
reputation for
delivering financial results and business growth to
shareholders through periods of both
economic growth and decline. Marty has been a CEO in
the Corporate sector; a leader in
the Not-for-Profit sector; a consultant to Privately
Owned and Publicly Traded businesses
on Strategic Thinking, Planning/Implementation,
Marketing & Communications and
Organizational Development.
Marty holds a B.Commerce Honors degree from the
University of Manitoba and an MBA
from the University of Toronto. He began his
business career at General Foods Ltd. (now
Kraft General Foods) and was trained in Product
Management, the beginning of a career
long commitment to Strategic Thinking and Brand
Building.
Marty spent 27 years at MacLaren Advertising (now
MacLaren McCann) including 5 years
as EVP & COO and 4 years as President & CEO. As COO,
he was the architect and
implementer of the company’s diversification from
pure media advertising to a complete
communications company, which dramatically increased
revenues and profits, while further
strengthening long-standing client relationships.
In addition, Marty has been the CEO of Prism
Communications and TMS Multimedia
Corp., as well as President (now Chair) of the Heart
& Stroke Foundation of Ontario. In
each of these positions, because of the economic
environment, Marty was called upon to
define a new strategic direction, re-organize
management and implement fundamental
change. He has significantly increased his
experience in new business start-ups and his
knowledge about technology and the potential of the
“new economy”.
For the past 8 years Marty has operated a consulting
practice focused on Strategic
Positioning; Re-Organization; Succession Planning;
and Marketing and Communications.
Marty is currently a Partner and Chairman of
Grasshopper Innovation Inc, a Toronto
based software Development Company specializing in
software solutions that automate
marketing processes.
Marty is the Chairman of the Advisory Board of The
Heart and Stroke Foundation Centre
for Stroke Recovery, a consortium of Sunnybrook
Hospital, Baycrest Hospital and the
Ottawa Hospital Research Institute dedicated to
world-class research in Stroke Recovery.
Over the course of his career, Marty has had lengthy
and successful client relationships
