A driver of change and creator of value, Kaz has an uncanny capacity to see potential where it could easily be missed. By integrating knowledge-based marketing with strategic business development, Kaz inevitably accelerates growth and performance, thereby building blue chip companies.

As Senior Vice President, Strategic Marketing and Business Development, for Shoppers Drug Mart, he guided the implementation of critical value initiatives in preparation for one of Canada’s largest and most successful IPOs. Kaz spearheaded the enterprise-wide CRM program leveraging Shoppers Optimum cardholder data to generate quick wins and inform strategic decisions enhancing Shoppers’ competitive edge.

Another example of his talent has been documented in his work with Royal Bank of Canada where he consulted on the development of the Branded Customer Experience project, later renamed ‘Client First’, which grew into one of the largest initiatives ever undertaken by RBC.

Kaz started his business career with The Monitor Group, a global consultancy focused on improving competitiveness of Fortune 500 companies where he sharpened his innate talent for value creation and strategic agility. Kaz’s shareholder value creation orientation was further refined as Manager of Business Development at Imasco where he was responsible for coordinating the strategic management process, partnering with CEOs on critical value initiatives and providing implementation support. While with Imasco, Kaz guided Shoppers Drug Mart entry into the distribution business yielding a net $100 MM fully matured EBITDA benefit and \one of the lowest cost retail supply chains in North America. As well, Kaz partnered with Canada Trust guiding the development of an integrated delivery strategy leading to the realignment of the business model in support of a ‘comfortable’ customer experience, refocusing channels roles and introducing effective integrating mechanisms. Kaz provided extensive deal support in the disposition of Canada Trust to TD including a market-by-market branch network optimization plan resulting in a $330 MM cost reduction.
